If you are having gopher or other underground animal pest problem
it is because you are not paying attention to what is causing the problem:

Over use of chemical fertilizers
Avoid using chemical fertilizers, pesticides etc., on your property. These things cause imbalance in the biological make up of the soil (the bacteria that live in the soil are killed by the fertilizer!) and the imbalance causes stress.
The stress attracts the gophers.

Over use of poisons
Instead of using poisons on the Gophers, learn to repel them, killing only as a last resort. Many poisons can be past along to a predator killing it too! Many birds, cats, dogs, etc die from poisons used for gopher and other underground animal pest control! When you have to kill, their are many safe natural alternatives you can use.

Readily available supply of food and water
Gophers etc., will come around for food and water during times when their normal supplies are low by providing them with a year round source of food and water, the Gophers and other underground creatures have trained you into doing the work for them! Learning to control your watering as well as what and how you plant things is a very important trick that you
can learn.

Provide Immediate help to the situation by addressing the immediate issue at hand. ANY PLANTS BEING DAMAGED? LAWN? The immediate issue is to figure out how to tell the gopher/mole to leave you alone!. The Invisible Gardener has developed many ways to do this.

Once you have followed with the immediate help, you should make sure that you are feeding your property. Lack of proper nutrition causes stress, high stress attracts the pests! Get it? Chemical fertilizers kill the soil.

Provide compost and mulch as needed.
Healthy property will have less problems with gophers / moles then a un healthy property.
